As part of our living thank-you, we continue with our thank you to those who work behind the scenes to care for our common home from all communities. This week we thank the engineers, innovators and researchers who have developed solutions.

Let us thank those involved in technology development from scientific breakthroughs in the laboratory through to production and factory set-up. Their efforts have created climate-friendly solutions.

Responding to the problem of climate change, innovators have come up with technologies that replace fossil fuels: wind power, solar power, heat pumps, battery electric vehicles to name just a few. These technologies have offered us hope. We thank them for these climate change solutions.

Further development of these decarbonisation technologies have firmly framed them as economic success stories. Not only are they viable alternatives to fossil fuels, but they offer lower costs and greater savings. Decarbonisation technologies have come of age and are more attractive than the older fossil fuel options. We thank the innovators and engineers for making them the new number one choice.

Most of the engineers, researchers and innovators behind the new technologies are unnamed and largely unrecognised. We thank them for their efforts and dedication to write, through their work, the next page in our history.
