Decisions made at a national level by national government have a very big effect on what is developed in a country. Governments can, if they want, select different approaches to dealing with climate change. This could be taxing polluters. It could be spending money on research and development. It could be spending money to help people and businesses purchase and run green technologies or farmers using friendlier farming styles that balance nature and food production. It could be by requiring industries or people to do or not do certain things (called regulation). Different approaches have different benefits for our economy and for our wildlife.
If you feel strongly about the approach that your government is taking or should take then write to your local representative. You can write to ask questions, suggest ideas or express concern. Good government makes a big difference.
