This is a project from Caritas in the Diocese of Nottingham. Black, Asian and minority ethnic Catholics of St Mary’s are invited to participate in this study. This is a research project conducted by the Nottingham Environmental Engagement Lab at the University of Nottingham and funded by CAFOD. It will look into how climate change is affecting ethnic minorities and their families both here and overseas and explore how we can all respond. This is part of the call to build a Church for the dignity and equality of all (see the papal encyclicals Laudato Si’ and Fratelli Tutti and the recent Synodal process which is ongoing).
More information is available here.
Some volunteers might be willing to share their stories with other parishioners later in the year as a way of listening to more voices and bringing a global view of climate change to our parish.
If you are interested in joining this study or would like to share your story at a parish event later in the year then use the contact page on the website and quote “local lives global stories” in the form. Many thanks.
