Global Goals

As we start a new year we often think of personal goals. As a global community we also have goals. The United Nations have summarized these global goals here. We can see that the 17 global goals are well aligned with the 7 Laudato Si’ goals. The UN’s global goals are much broader than climate change. And so are the Laudato Si’ goals. Caring for our common home means many aspects of care – from caring for our sisters and brothers to caring for our planet and all living things.

In the resources section we see the Plastic Hero Film which asks us to become a plastic hero and help reduce plastic waste. We asked the children what sort of hero they would like to become? “I don’t want to be a plastic hero, I want to be a rainforest hero”, one exclaimed. Another said “I want to be a poverty hero”. So, dear reader, what sort of hero do you want to become?
